Just watched a cool Xmas show, the only one I chose to watch and the thing that made me laugh so much was the fact they had Ozzy Osbourne doing the voice of a bat that is a priest.

I cannot sleep so I am watching movies.
Had a good day today though I ended up having to go out about five times. Had a couple of 'pots' of cider at one of the pubs in town. Going to, in the new year, go out to the pub during the day, take the laptop and do a bit of writting in a quiet corner. The owner said he did not mind, there were plenty of quiet corners.
I kind of went nuts buying presents for Deb for when she gets back. Also have three small presents for the short man. Be-lated X-mas pressies. Yes I do know Christmas has not come yet but when Deb and Xander-Angeleous make it back here it will be past Christmas.
I got some good food, a whole small smoked trout, prawns, good fruit, nibbles etc and a six pack of beer and a four pack of ginger beer.
So tonight/this morning I watched Barb Wire again. I know many people did not like this movie, especially those who like the comic and that it was classed as a flop etc but I do like it. It is good seeing Temura Morrison as a lead male.
Right now i am part way through the Asian fantasty action movie Dororo. This movie rocks so much. (so far) The concept is a man makes a deal with 48 demons to gain power. The price is his new born son. They take 48 parts of his body. This actually still leaves him alive. He is a tiny thing, just an eyeless head on an armless and legless trunk. A spell caster finds him floating in a wooden tub in a river and takes him in. He builds him a body. The kid grows up and goes out, seeking the $* to kill them and take back his parts.
Awesome action, awesome fight scenes and the demons are really cool.
It goes for over 2hrs.
Got Hackers to watch and a few other (quite a few) movies to watch. i am going to stretch out in the loungeroom today and watch Earthsea 9the Hallmark movies one). If today is as hot as yesterday then this will be the best plan of attack.
Was so hot today my feet burned through my shoes. Gotta love the fact it gets so hot the road melts.
Big fires happening all over at the moment so please sends some good thoughts the way of those who have lost their homes etc at this time of the years.
Oh, and i so always wanted to be a force of nature. Australia got hit by a tropical cyclone and it was name Laurence. Not the same spelling as my name of course but still funny.

For those who embrace this time of the year i hope it is everything you want and need it to be. For those who don't I hope you find something to bring you joy.

I am loving being in the family home even though I am bummed that I am not here with the family. The cats sense the bummed bit methinks as they are been awesome company.
I hit the library yesterday and got a couple of books out. Nine in fact. More Kevin J. Anderson, A Hunter S. Thompson, a new fantasy series by a writter I have never read before, a Michael Chricthon and a really cool book about a street kid that apprentices himself to the world's best assassin or 'wetboy' as they are called. already knocked over 100 pages of on of the Kevin J. Anderson books (book six of the Saga of the Seven Suns) and over 200 pages in the assassin book.
Recieved three more disks in my Dr. Who collection. It starts with the ninth Dr and then goes on to the tenth. This lot came with one of the classic movies, The Five Doctors so I am most happy.
I have to admit I have a bit of a crush on Billy Piper. I love her Rose Tyler chracter, her Sally Lockheart and of course the call girl she plays in Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
I have the Hallmark Movies Earthsea to watch as well as a bunch of other movies.
Going to head out and do some shopping today. I have one small present put aside for the shortman and several for Deb. Going to pick up some beer and mnchies. Methinks a seafood pizza with sweet chilli sauce maybe in order. May even hit the pub for a cider and a vodka or a 'shot and a pot' as I call it.
and that's about it I guess.
Though i brought the supplies I have not done any drawing.
ah well. This is the closest I get to a holiday so I am going to take advantage of it.

There is a saying that if you wait by the edge of the river long enough, the bodies of your enemies will float by. That is very true, as they all did float by after waiting just a short while, I just played my Nintendo DS next to the river's edge for a bit while waiting and sure enough it happened. The problem is that there seems to be something at the end of the river that keeps resurrecting many of them after a while. Then their undead bodies become friends with some of the least intelligent in the circle of friends I have. Then me and the more intelligent friends that I have talk catty about these undead corpses to blow off some steam. Oh well, such is life.

I woke up todaye unable to open my right eye, with my right cheek so swollen I felt like someone had been punching me in my sleep, with my mouth so swollen it was bleeding, with the back of the left side of my head swollen and feeling like someone had taken a boot to it and with the base of my skull and top of my neck so sore and swollen I thought my neck was broken.
Oh and with a one and a half to two inch long swelling across the right side of my throat.
So, how was your morning, lol.
Okies, methinks I see a dr's trip early next week if this abcess keeps playing up. I am chewing down a lot of pain meds and anti inflamitories every few hours to keep the pain and swelling down and to help with the fever temp. Trouble is it does not fully kick either the pain or the swelling and does not knock the fever fully out.
So walking is fun due to the whole falling over thing and I look like Quasimodo's ugly brother.

I loaded Max Payne 2 earlier this evening and five hours later, I have beaten the game, hehehehehe.
I love both of the games. There are some things I lover about the first game more than I like the second game and stuff in the second game I like more than the first. (playing as Mona is one of the things I love).
I have Soldier of Fortune loaded up on the laptop and am going to see of Red Faction will run on here.
Deb and I are deciding whether or not I am going to the family home tomorrow or on sunday.
DEb and Xander leave Monday morning and I house sit until she comes back. So I will hav kitties for company for Xmas.
I am finding it darkly funny that it is my b'day on Sunday and I get hit with a bad abcess that has led to bigtime face sweeling and fever. Not what I would have asked for a pressie, lol.
Okies, not sure what I am up to now.
I shall return though.

Face is swollen due to abcess(or maybe more than one), head is swollen where there is one of the 'soft spots' or permanent lumps and my fever temp is through the roof. And to make things more fun, it is hot as Hades outside.
I have all windows closed, fading cooler on and am on the couch.
Watched Tremors 4:The Legend Begins. It turned out I had not seen this one. I enjoyed it a lot. I was cool to see how my favourite character evolved from his ancestor.
Watching extended version of Terminator 2 and then going to watch 3.
so really quiet day.
I am eating when I can stand without falling over and drinking as often as I can.
nothing like adding bad pain and a high fever to bad depression.

Forgot to mention that I did a buttload of CD reviews for Local Sounds Magazine this past month: Butt Funnel, Brainerd, and the Crustacean CD compilation. Not my best writing, soon as I get out of school and heal my ulcers so I can drink more then maybe I can write properly.
Caught another sinus infection, but a very minor one. I can easily predict how severe a cold/sinus thing will be by how sore my throat gets beforehand. Sunday it was just kind of a minor irritation in the back of my throat, could barely feel it and most of the time didn't notice it at all. Was boogery the next 2 days but I think I'm mostly over it already. Unlike in May, when I needed to numb the back of my throat with anesthetics to quell the ginormous pain that a day later resulted in hamthrax and gallons of daily goo for 2 weeks and losing my voice for almost as long.
NyQuil hangovers suck a goat's ass.

So what was supposed to be the last chance to be alone before my b'day, the last chance to be alone before I am left alone and housesitting for xmas and what was to be the last chance to spend time alone for what is going to be months DID NOT HAPPEN!!
fuck this for a game of marbles.
I am going to hibernate, not answering messages, phone etc for the next few days or more. I don't have to be anywhere until I have to go house-sit on Monday.

So tonight I have watched one movie which I hae enjoyed a lot and am part way through something that I am loving even more.
The movie was Ninja (I want to call it Shinobi, lol). I did enjoy this one a lot. Loved the old school Koga Shinobi style gear going up against the up to date armour and tech costume of the evil ninja.
Okies, the thing I am part way through that I am enjoying even more is Alice. Damn this is so much fun. I am liking it as much as I liked Tinman which I loved so very much. Only prob with it is who they got to play the Queen of Hearts. I like Kathy Bates as an actress but I am not too impressed with her in this role.
It is so good seeing on of my fav young actors from Primeval in this. Damn the Hatter has a mean right hand! Punching the Jabberwock was so ver cool.
Matt Frewer as the White Knight is awesome. It is good seeing Tim Curry and Colm Meany in this too.
This so makes me want to write my dark Wonderland and dark Oz tales.
well back to it I go. Got part of the first one to watch and then will watch the second one. Might also watch on of the Tremors movies since I now have all four of them.

I have now made my darling wife ticked off with me. Bugger.
I told her I did not class a photoalbum as something I wanted as a b'day present. I also said how I really don't like practical gifts etc and then told her when she asked what I classed as practical that anything to do with my writting or drawing or anything like that as practical. (also clothing, things to use around the house etc etc) And I think that the gift she said is coming through the mail might be something along those lines.
Damn it, I wish I was the type of person that could pretend etc.
so now, as well as not being able to do anything on the day of my b'day due to the usual reasons, I have ticked off my wife beforehand and am now dreading the fact that I am going to make her more upset if she decides to give me a present.
I think I am going to hibernate until I have to go house-sit the family home when Deb and Xander go to Melbourne for xmas.

I just had an incredible tasty snack. Tigwer King prawns cooked and heated a little with a small dusting of ground sea salt over them, dipped into a sauce that is egg mayo mixed with sweet chilli sauce, a dab of wasabi and a small drizzle of sweet balsamic Italian salad dressing all mixed together.
Damn my taste-buds are still singing. It was not blow the back of your head off hot but had an incredible flavour. I should make up jars of it to sell. Papa Troll's Own Seafood sauce with Balls, hehehehhehe.
I have the rest of my Tasmanian sea scallops defrosting and I am going to cook them with a little butter and some Asian spices and then going to plate them, grind a little sea salt over them and have them with my sea food sauce.
I am bouncing around also due to the fact I just knocked over another book in the Saga of the Seven Suns series by Kevin J. Anderson. I so am loving this series!!
I am trying also to distract myself from the fact that it is my b'day in seven days. I am kind of bummed that this year I will not be able to buy myself the combined b'day/xmas present I usually buy (not that i get myself the same present every year, heheheh) as I went all out buying as many gifts as I could for DEb's b'day on the 9th.I never buy myself anything that most people would think of as a practical gift. I was going to buy myself a replica sword this year. The one I had been promising myself for a while was this one

(there were a few others that were also in consideration to get, replicas of swords from Bleach and one from One Piece and there is a good replica of Conan's sword, and I also was considering maybe finally getting a replica axe for the collection sincer I don't have a metal one. I was not planning on buying all of these for my b'day, but was going to get one of them. The Mikoto sword from My Hime was on the top of the list though)
Ah well. Not sure what I will be doing for the actual b'day day as it is a Sunday and nothing is open and Deb and I will not be able to spend any alone time together etc.
I am always bummed on the day as it is a reminder of all the torturous birthdays I had when growing up (hence the reason I always buy myself a gift for those years I recieved none or punishment and torture was the 'gift' etc) and also the aniversary of when we lost what was to be our first born child that we lostreal close to my 21st b'day.
Okies, subject change.
I am tagging the four movies in the Tremors series of films. I have always loved these movies so much. I have the first one so far and should have the other maybe by the end of the day.

When I saw mc chris in October I was blown away by one of the opening bands, Whole Wheat Bread (beware all ye who tread there, link goes to myspace), an all-black punk trio who shredded righteously. One of my more interesting discoveries of the year.
I caught the Queers at the Frequency on Thurs night when it was 2 degrees F out and we had gotten 16 inches of show (I shit thee not, in case you don't live here, everything was closed on Wed except for hospitals and where I work, and it took an hour and a half to make the 25 minute trek to work on Thursday when places opened their doors again and all the cars came back out but the roads weren't plowed because salt don't work when it's less than 15 degrees F outside). Thought I'd catch them since I missed their sold out gig this summer, wasn't sold out because of old man winter but it wasn't all that thrilling IMO.

I just finished watching Inglorious Basterds. Now when i watch a movie the Quentin Tarintino has had a hand in the making of, producing, directing etc, there are things I have come to expect. I have to say this one met all my expectations.
Now of course it is a heavy and brutal movie but I must admit, I did crack up numerous times. I know people will think me strange for saying this about a movie that deals with what this movies deals with, but I found it fun.
I have managed to grab myself the new SciFi channel version of Alice to watch and thanks to DEb I also have Ninja here to watch too. Not sure if i will be watching those just yet as it is late.
I have been playing the DS a bit. Having a lot of fun with 007 Goldeneye:Rogue Agent. They give you some fun weapons to play with. Using the stylus to target when you have twitchy, arthritic hands makes it hard but I still manage to get a massive amount of head shots even when I am not using a weapon with a scope. I have been having childish fun shooting bad guys in the genitals or between the eyes with the detonator pistol. Nothing like hiting someone with an explosive charge that sticks where ever you hit them and then detonates when you pull the trigger on the gun a second time. Oh and the railgun is a lot of fun too.
Been playing Final Fantasy Tactics. The Grimore one. It tis fun.
and that is me done geeking it up.
Hopefully hitting the desktop tomorrow (make that later today) and scanning up the new pics. i should be heading to the family home later to swap some movies and series files with Deb. Hopefully she will help me unpack some ISO games files (Clive Barker's Undying and Clive Barker's Jericho) also she has some games she tagged for the short man that I have been hanging to play.

Should consider getting some sleep I guess.
